Ress. Asst. Dr. Seda KARAGÖZ ZEREN, who published the first doctoral dissertation on the use of Blockchain technology in the field of tourism in Turkey, was selected as a researcher to take part in the European Scientific Cooperation Project (EUSCP)

Ress. Asst. Dr. Seda KARAGÖZ ZEREN, who works in the program of Tourism and Hotel Management, Department of Business Administration, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Trakya University, published a doctoral dissertation entitled “Blockchain Applications in Financial Payments System: Smart Contracts Design in Tourism Sector ” first on the use of blockchain technology in the field of tourism in Turkey. Prof. Dr. Engin DEMIREL, a faculty member of the Department of Business Administration, was the supervisor of the doctoral dissertation published by Ress. Asst. Dr. Seda KARAGÖZ ZEREN. The dissertation monitoring committee included Prof. Dr. Kıymet ÇALIYURT, a faculty member of the Department of Business Administration, Assoc. Dr. M. Kenan TERZİOĞLU, a faculty member of department of Econometrics, Prof. Dr. Sibel YILMAZ TÜRKMEN, a faculty member of Marmara University and Prof. Dr. Erhan DEMİRELİ, a faculty member of Dokuz Eylül University.

Blockchain is the ledger technology in which data is reconciled using peer-to-peer encryption methods in a distributed network structure. Along with this technology, the reliability of the data is guaranteed and abuses are prevented.

Ress. Asst. Dr. Seda KARAGÖZ ZEREN's doctoral dissertation interest and collected praise by Prof. Dr. Muzaffer UYSAL, who was chosen 4th scientist as produced the most publications in the field of tourism in the world between 1985-2005 and the member of the commission of the 3rd Tourism Council in Republic of Turkey of Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Also, after the publication of her doctoral dissertation, Ress. Asst. Dr. Seda KARAGÖZ ZEREN was selected to serve as a researcher in the European Scientific Cooperation Project (EUSCP). Ress. Asst. Dr. Seda KARAGÖZ ZEREN, who will serve as a researcher in the “Evaluation of Digital Transformation in Organizations” program of the European Scientific Cooperation Project (EUSCP), researches the study of the effects of digital transformation processes in enterprises within the scope of the project. Emphasizing that interdisciplinary and digital studies are of increasing importance with the Covid-19 pandemic period, Ress. Asst. Dr. Seda KARAGÖZ ZEREN stated that the use of technological innovations to ensure data security is among the proactive measures.
